WHAT WAS/IS TRUMP'S OBJECTIVE ?
Doesn't it appear that Trump's objective is to tear America down?
Donald Trump was elected President in 2016 with the stated objective to “Make America Great Again”. What, in particular, was he trying to achieve? What did he believe about America that he felt needed to be accomplished to make America GRAT AGAIN? What was it that it was no longer but could become again? That was never defined. He spent four years in the White House but never achieved anything other than to make other mega millionaires and billionaires wealthier than before. At the end of his term, Americana were suffering and dying from COVID-19 and he never did anything to help them defend against it, claiming it would die out in a couple of months, then denying masks and encouraging measures like drinking antifreeze. His first term was a wreck.
But people forget so easily how chaotic Trump’s first term was. By contrast, Joe Biden’s four years as President were quite successful in quelling the pandemic, restoring the economy, creating jobs and passing an “infrastructure act to repair America’s failing bridges, highways and pipelines. Nearly half of voters overlooked those successes and voted for Trump as President once again to “make American great again”. Trump’s desire for retribution for the failure of America to reelect him in 2020 induces him to make Cabinet appointments of the worst possible candidates: incompetents, inexperienced, hostile people, some of whom, like Trump himself, have criminal records behind them, and some of whom have been accused of sexual misbehavior. It can be interpreted as though Trump is determined to make America fail, once and for all.
Everyone (Trump’s favorite falsification) can see that Trump harbors a serious vindictive grudge against the majority of the American people for ousting him in 2020. He is determined to punish as many of his opponents as he possibly can and to deny those who failed to vote for him any of the benefits they cherish. His targets are government-assisted health care, objective media outlets (newspapers, cable TV, even liberal social media), religious countervailing movements for church-state separation, opposition labor activities, liberal education, and government subsidies for housing, education, transportation and infrastructure repair. Commerce he will leave alone if not support. Trump is an isolationist and will move to sever any cooperative agreements with foreign countries unless they will give an advantage to the U.S. business community (including Musk’s space and communications monopoly) and Netanyahu’s goal to impoverish if not annihilate the Palestinian presence in the area west of the Jordan.
In brief, Trump’s goal is to weaken America so that he, his family and his fellow oligarchs can dominate the culture and be empowered to achieve whatever they wish without impediment. Opposing voices are to be weakened, if not suppressed so that no counteracting movement can possibly succeed - indefinitely into the future. If that’s his objective, he has four years in which to accomplish that, OR perhaps just two. If a Democratic Congress can be elected in 2026.
