WARFARE WITHIN THE WHITE HOUSE
Trump craves the Nobel Peace Prize but can't quell White House infighting
The acrimonious dissolution between President Donald Trum and Elon Musk is now indelible history with neither contestant coming out of that fiasco in victory. Now that that is behind us, we see other little clashes behind the White House curtain that are beginning to see the light of day, suggesting that all is not well. That could be expected. Trump appoints people who are prone to anger and getting their own way, who are contemptuous of others who they regard as their rivals for attention or power. Here below are some of those situations where mutual hatred is emerging, situations that amuse Trump but that he seems powerless to quell:
Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Dep. Director Dan Bongino
Sec. of State) Marco Rubio & Richard Grinell (Trump’s Envoy for Special Missions)
Pete Hegseth (Defense Secretary) and Sean Duffy (Transp. Secretary)
Scott Bessent (Trea. Sec’ry) and Trade Advisor Peter Navarro
Howard Lutnick (Commerce Secr’y) and Peter Navarro (Trade Advisor)
These are the White House hostilities revealed so far. Given the kind of people Trump appoints, you can be confident there will be more. And, of course, ethical conduct is not a concern or criterion that Trump cares about – nor do his appointees. So, he got rid of his Inspectors General who were the watchdogs who monitored departmental efficiency and integrity. Consistent with that approach, it was just revealed that Attorney General Pam Biondi fired her Ethics Advisor, Joeph Terrell, who monitored the Department of Justice. It will get worse – and not get better until Trump is out of the White House.
