ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER FALSEHOOD - OR TWO
Trump wind the contest for the most lies told by any U.S. President
Today, it was reported that Donald Trump claimed he had received a “man of the year” award from a Republican club in Michigan. It was false. The club doesn’t give out such awards – ever. Then there was the photo of Trump speaking in Scranton, PA., with some people dressed as firefighters holding signs that said :Firefighters for Trump”, followed by a disclaimer from Firefighters Union 60 that the “firefighters” were not known to them and that the Union had not endorsed Trump. These claims were made following charges by Trump and Vance that hurricane victims in Kentucky were being neglected by FEMA and other federal agencies because funds were diverted to helping illegal immigrants. These claims were refuted by a variety of sources. Fabrication- also known as lies- are a staple with Trump, Vance and trump’s campaign. They go back in a virtual constant stream to 2016 when he first declared his Presidential ambition. Multiple sources, including CNN and NBC tally more than 30,000 lies Trump has told since he became President in 2017. The consequences of those lies include more than one hundred thousand who died of Trump’s COVID-19 misinformation. Among Trump’s other lies are these:
He claimed that more than 500 miles of Border Wall were built. 458 actually – and part was replacing already existing wall.
He claimed that Mexico would pay for the Wall. It didn’t.
He rebuilt the military; The military was actually on a strong footing when he came into office.
Instituted a penalty of ten years for ding damage to monuments. It was done prior to his Presidency.
He filled up the National Petroleum Reserve; Actually, he didn’t.
He created 1.2 million manufacturing jobs. Fact: He actually lost jobs during his Presidency.
He raised household income. Actually, it remained flat.
He defeated ISIS in the Middle East. It was never defeated but was diminished before he became President.
He reduced the cost of moving the Jerusalem embassy to under $500,000. Total cost actually exceeded $3 million.
He stopped construction of the Nord Stream pipeline. It was actually stopped earlier.
He resumed deportations to Honduras, Guatemala & El Salvador. Actually, they were never stopped.
He alleged caravans were coming from South America. Actually, they didn’t exist.
He claimed the COVID virus would die out. It didn’t.
He claimed peace existed in the Middle East during his Presidency. It didn’t.
These are just a few of Trump’s lies. Trump’s theory is that the bigger the lie, it will have to be believed by the masses. Is he right?
