A ONE-SIDED WAR IN GAZA
Netanyahu's policies continue despite loss of popular support
Every day, the news reports on the number of Gaza Palestinians who have been killed by Israeli bombings and shootings. Twenty deaths were reported today so far. Forty-five were reported killed yesterday, waiting for food aid – 94 in all. Since May, 613 at aid stations. 613 near convoys. This isn’t a battle where opposing forces are shooting at one another. It’s a one-sided slaughter. It’s a genocide that Israel is waging against the remaining people of Gaza. There was a time when we could justify the founding of the state of Israel because of the Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazis. Perhaps that argument has run its course and the state of Israel has become a pariah among nations. If it were not for American military aid, the state of Israel would succumb to the enemies it has created. Perhaps we should no longer justify Israel’s existence and just honor, appreciate and defend the Jewish people throughout the world wherever they can make a home.
Bibi shows no interest in ending his campaign in Gaza and continuing to kill more unarmed Gaza people. Trump says he has tried to end the war but continues to support Netanyahu and provide him with weapons. Don’t pay heed to what he says but just watch what he does. If ever there was a chance for Palestinians and Israelis to live peaceably together, that time has passed. Netanyahu has provoked such enmity between his people and the Palestinians that any hope for a settlement is now evaporated. Will it be in fifty years or a hundred years that people will look back to a time when an accommodation has been reached – or will that never happen in the foreseeable future? It has been nearly 80 years since the state of Israel was created and Palestinians were shoved aside. The situation is now far worse than it was then. It is not likely change until Bibi Netanyahu is gone from the scene and his right-wing supporters are vanquished as well.
